Someone's 2 Today!

I can't believe it's been 2 years already. Miss Ava Lydia is 2 today! I had to work today, but I left early & we went out for frozen yogurt. Going to spend a nice family evening in tonight & then tomorrow is her big party. Happy Birthday my little girl!

Should I be worried already?

This past week my regular daycare lady, Mali, was on vacation so Ava went to my friend Louise's house while I went to work (yep, Alexa still comes to the office with me). Louise has a little boy, James, who is about 5 weeks older than Ava. They've obviously been playing together since they were born & are good friends. Ava doesn't even notice when I leave her at Louise's.

So on Friday Louise left the two kiddos in James' bedroom while she went to make lunch. She didn't think much of them giggling because they are typical two year olds. Until...

James walked into the kitchen tugging at his short & asking for Louise to take it off of him. The thing was, the shirt was all he had on. No shoes, no pants, no diapers. So Louise runs into the bedroom to find Ava with nothing on except her shoes, trying to get those off too. Quite the sight. She's never taken her diaper off on her own before, so we can only assume James helped her. They were very polite about it though & both diapers were in the diaper genie.

She even took pictures, but I'm not so sure those would be appropriate for the internet! I suppose at not quite 2 years old it's okay for her to be getting undressed with James, but she better not even think about it when she's 16!

4th of July Festivities

These should have been up weeks ago, but I do things at my own pace. We had a great 4th of July weekend. We went to a thing called the Singing Flag in our town. It's this HUGE production put on by a local church. It's singing, dancing & skits, mostly patriotic, followed by an amazing fireworks show. Seriously hundreds & hundreds of people go to it each of it's three nights. We also hit up a friends BBQ on the 4th itself. Here's a few of my favorite pictures from that weekend.

Relaxing Summer

I'm sorry that I've been gone so long. I've been caught up in summer. I haven't been returning emails either. I'm just enjoying life & trying not to spend too much time on the computer. Although, I somehow still manage to keep up with facebook.

I also had a rather sudden visit from my little sister. Since she's not working right now, she figured she might as well visit me! So she left her brand new husband for a long weekend & flew from Florida to California at the last minute. It was so nice to spend some sister time with her & for her to spend more one on one time with my girls. I was sad to see her go because the time just went by too fast.

Ava's second birthday is in two weeks. I still haven't planned a party. I'm feeling way behind on everything right now, but I really have just been enjoying life for once. That year behind I am on filing? It'll still be there this fall. Might take me an extra 30 minutes to finish once I finally file, but it will be worth it. I love just spending time with my kids & relaxing a bit.

Although, in reality, we're still doing an awful lot. We had a garage sale. I've done more organ zing around here. I'm still working. We still have appointments. I still have things to deal with my FIL. I still have tons of weight to lose & no motivation to eat healthier & exercise more. I have friends I'm neglecting. There are still bills to pay. Okay, so maybe I'm a bit more worried about the day to day stuff than I originally let on. Somehow, it will all get done. It always does.

Not So Imaginary Anymore!

I've been reading Kjersten's blog for a few years now. And this weekend in San Diego, I got to meet her!!

Kjersten got married just a couple of months before I did. Her first born, Jackson, was born about 6 weeks after Ava & her daughter, Abbie, is one day older than Alexa. Not to mention that I am exactly one day older than Kjersten. I don't think I will ever find anyone quite as close to my life ever again.

We met at the San Diego zoo. Ava & Jackson played well together & Kjersten & I were chatting away like old friends. It was a lot of fun!

Thanks for a fun meetup Kjersten! We'll definitely be doing it again.
